Taleb is interviewed by Ed Smith, GQ's sports columnist. In the discussion, Taleb speaks to the importance of being long convexity and thus antifragile in life. The Lionscrest Funds are managed by Universa Investments where Taleb is Principal and Distinguished Scientific Advisor. The strategy employed by Universa for the Lionscrest Funds is that of tail-protection with an embedded long highly convex payout. Taleb explains that being long convexity means that you are antifragile and thus a beneficiary of randomness, uncertainty and volatility. In a world that is inter-connected in ways that are often hard to ascertain much less measure, leverage through the use of debt has become extremely prevalent and volatility has been artificially suppressed by central bankers, it has never been more important to be antifragile.
